How to setup Amazon echo tap - Alexa App

1. Downloading of the Alexa application and signing in
The free Alexa app helps you in setting up your device for shopping lists, alarms, music and more. This app is easily downloaded on tablets and mobile devices that run on:
  •        iOS 8.0 or higher
  •        Android 4.4 or higher
  •        Fire OS 3.0 or higher

Downloading the Alexa App is easily done by going to the app store on your mobile device, searching for “Alexa app” and then selecting and downloading the application. If you are working on a PC, you can follow the link http://alexa.amazon.com from Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge, making sure that the Wi-Fi connection is enabled.

2. Turn on Amazon Tap


Echo tap setup begins by plugging in the adapter and the charging cable into the Charging cradle and then plug it into the power outlet. On the top of the Amazon tap, the front light indicators turn blue and then turn orange. You are greeted by the Alexa app and taken to the Echo tap Setup mode.

3.  Connecting Amazon Tap to Wi-Fi network

The next step in the Echo Tap setup is connecting Amazon tap to the Wi-Fi network. In case the setup process fails to start on its own, You can try Amazon Tap troubleshooting by pressing the holding the Wi-Fi/ Bluetooth button for five seconds. Tip: Press and hold the Power button for five seconds in case the Amazon Tap is not able to connect to the Wi-Fi network until a tone is heard. 4. Talking to Alexa
Amazon tap is now ready to use. Just press the Microphone button and speak in natural and short phrases. Hands-free mode is also available in the Alexa app. This mode can be used to wake the word “Alexa” in order to activate Alexa. After you have finished using Amazon Tap services, put the device to sleep mode by pressing the Power button in order to conserve the battery.
